CHASSIS

Although a standard enclosure is adequate for most applications, there are situations where a chassis requires modifications, or where a completely custom box is required, designed from scratch to meet very specific environmental or performance criteria.

DVD/BluRay

Harsh or severe environment data storage applications require custom, ruggedized data storage solutions engineered to exacting specifications. For data distribution of very large, stable databases and maps, MSS's ruggedized DVD/BluRay systems, with high performance firmware implementation, insure reliable operation as a stand-alone mass storage dissemination system. These rugged drives can read virtually thousands of text, graphic, multimedia or audio CDs or DVDs. Recorded data is tamper-proof and has a projected storage life of 10 years or more.

Mountain Secure Systems has spent over 15 years specializing in the art of ruggedizing mass memory storage devices, with a focus on optical technology. Magneto-Optic (MO) is an established technology that has proven itself in many varied applications. Inherently rugged optical media, with current capacities to 5.2 gigabytes per 5.25" disk, operates over a broad range of temperatures. Optically recorded data cannot be accidentally erased by stray magnetic fields and, of course, removable media cartridges provide virtually unlimited storage capacity.
